In your initial posting, explain to your classmates what you think the most important ways in which human resources impacts organizational culture, and the most important ways in which culture, in turn, impacts employees.

Option #1: Are They Similar?
Employment and labor laws vary from country to country. Foreign labor laws generally provide much more protection for workers than labor laws in the United States. While the Fair Labor Standards Act in the U.S. establishes a minimum wage and overtime pay for hourly workers, it doesn't limit the number of hours a company can require an employee to work. In Mexico, however, the Constitution establishes a maximum of eight hours for shift workers, a maximum of seven hours for the night shift, and a maximum of nine hours of overtime per week. For every six days of work, Mexico's workers must have one day off.

Majhoshev (2017) (Links to an external site.) explained that the right of workers to form and join trade unions is one of the most important international labor standards. That said, union membership in the United States continues to decrease.

There are differing schools of thought about the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Some feel that the FMLA has gone too far, while others advocate for extending the reach of the FMLA because the Act does not provide enough coverage or does not properly compensate those taking the leave.
What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of FMLA?
What is one rule/modification to the FMLA that would make the law more "employee-friendly" and yet, at the same time, NOT be overly costly and/or restrict an organization?
NOTE: The cost of additional taxes and employee benefits raise the price of U.S. products and services, which can impact an organization's ability t

Throughout the past two weeks, we have discussed many aspects related to employment laws. Harassment and discrimination are illegal, and awareness and training have made employees more cognizant of the need to avoid conduct that may be perceived as harassing or discriminatory. For some, though, the concern remains how to further reduce, if not eliminate, issues related to harassment and discrimination. With that as a background, address the following:
What are two specific strategies, not already taken/utilized by other students, that a human resource professional should pursue to further reduce harassment and discrimination in the workplace today?
How can these strate
