Follow Attached rubric. Assess the impact of news on stocks and bonds. News can affect stock and bond prices in significant ways. This is because news disseminates into the market at different speeds and with different levels of importance. As investors, you need to think about how information flows through market participants and into securities. Surprise news can jolt the market up or down, whereas gradual dissemination can result in a slow buildup or deterioration in prices/yields. Additionally, market participants sometimes build expectations beforehand, and prices react differently than people expected because the news did not meet or exceed expectations. conduct the research brief, use the following format.
I. Research Objective:
State here what your objectives are for the research you are conducting. Advice: do not make this harder than it is. All you want to do is find something that interests you and ask questions about it.
II. Data Gathering
State here what type of data you will need to arrive at a conclusion. Be specific, for example, you would want to cite a source like NYSE stock market equity price at the close of trading on a specific date. Make sure you state why this data is important why it is the type of data that you need.
III. Hypothesis

INTERNATIONAL TAX RESEARCH MEMO
Mannring Co., a U.S. corporation, has decided to set up a headquarters subsidiary in Europe. Management has narrowed its location choice to either Spain, or Ireland, or Switzerland. The company has asked you to research some of the income tax implications of setting up a corporation in these three countries. In particular, management wants to know what tax rate will be imposed on corporate income earned in the country and the withholding rates applied to interest, dividends, and royalty payments from the subsidiary to the Mannring Co.
To answer the tax rate question, consult KPMG's Corporate and Indirect Tax Survey included as an attachment to the assignment.
To answer the withholding tax questions, consult the treaties between the United States and Spain, Ireland, and Switzerland, which you can access at www.irs.gov (type in treaties as your search word)

Using your knowledge of t-testing. Analyze data set and report on the outcome.
Examples:
Is the daily temperature hotter this year than in previous years? Compare four different months.
Is baseball attendance lower this year than in previous years? Compare four different teams.
Paper:
You will need to submit a paper showing all four t-tests, an explanation of why the data set was used, an explanation of the results, and an explanation of the implications of the results. This needs to be done for each data set, and for the combined results of the data sets.
5 pages, Cite references.
Presentation:
In addition, create and submit a 5 slide PowerPoint of the research that will be presented. The PowerPoint will include a cover slide (1), and one slide for RQ, Ho, Ha, and Idea (1), one slide per data set (4), one slide for opinion(1),
Select two data sets that are of interest to you, and perform a t-test in Excel to determine if there is a statistically significant difference between the two data sets. Your P value should be less than 0.05 to prove a statistically significant difference. Report your results. Provide a two page report that includes an explanation of the data sets, the results of the t-test, and and the significance of the results.
