Reading Discussion: Putting Statistics to Work

In this discussion, you will share your thoughts and reactions to the weeks readings by engaging in conversation around a set of prompts. Finally, submit a 2-page, single-spaced response to this reading that addresses the following:

This week will be the Final Examination. You will have the entire week to review the Essay and write a well-thought out response to the prompt. Be sure use historical thinking skills and take a stand on the prompt. In addition your essay should include a discernible and defensible thesis statement.

Directions: Using the knowledge from this course and readings or source documents that we read answer the following question in a well-thought (6-8 paragraphs) out historical essay.

Question: Evaluate the extent to which debates over slavery in the period from 1830 to 1860 led the United States into the Civil War

For this paper you will need to see a streamed live performance of a play within this quarter.  You can find some recommendations for this quarter.  See "What's Streaming" in the Resources section.  If you choose Hamilton on Disney Plus, make sure to see the notation also on that page.

Please maintain the order of questions with your responses, but write in essay format--so not in bullet point or subsections. Be sure to review the requirements for written work in the syllabus before you write your response.
Once you have chosen your topic, compose your paper in a word processing program, then go to "Submit Assignment" and upload your file as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf.
Reminder, run a spelling and grammar check before you submit. And don't forget, referencing a play is a proper title and needs to either italicized or underlined, not in quotation marks.

Religion

I want it written in 12 point font, margins for the pages must be 1 inch on all sides. You are writing about how a religious communities deal with other faith communities. Examples of the latter, would be how Muslims view Jews and Christians as Peoples of the Book while rejecting polytheistic religions, or how Hindus view the Buddha as an incarnation of Vishnu (though this doesnt mean they convert to Buddhism).

Reading Discussion: Defining Culture & Its Relationship to the Gospel

First, based on your reading of the chapters from Crouch assigned this week, post your carefully considered response to the following prompts:

Explain the relationship Crouch demonstrates between culture and the gospel so far (part 2, chapters 6-8).
